VeloCake needs YOU!

Cross racing is back. After a long long wait since Plymouth, this Sunday is the only race in the SW league in Cornwall, at Bodmin.
As it's our local race, only 45 minutes away from Penzance, I'm sure there'll be a full turn out of the SW VC  team and all our supporters cheering and ringing cowbells from the sidelines. Or maybe not then.......
12:30, The Dragon sports centre, Bodmin. Just of the A30. If anyone's interested.

If you get bored, there's a water slide

And then next week.....Pignuts!  The North West branch should be getting together in a school field in Northwich.

If I could afford the petrol I'd come and race! I'll have to stay local and race Boggarts instead (not much of a hardship - was an ace course last year and I broke into the top 75!)

Looking forward to Pignuts :)

My usual MTB race appears to be off so I'll be racing cross on the 7th November, in Preston Park less than a mile from where I grew up, for the first time since 1992. Although I'll not be borrowing Bec's cross bike as I've promised to do it SS so I'll just steal her tyres for the gayer ;0)

I didn't think you were tough enough for cross Tom?

Tom, what about your limp wrists????

I have a sneaky feeling that the scotchland branch will be involved in racing again..........but not how you might think.

It's ok I'll get off and walk all the rough sections.

This was supposed to be a rousing call to arms, much like that aussie bloke did in the scotch film about the blue faces, "but you'll never take our freedom" and all that. more like a limp ballon.
arrh well, you can but dream.
Still, it'll be a different story next week in Northwich won't it...

Tom, don't listen to those nasty pair. you take your big gayer and have a lovely time with your limp wrists. (did that sound rude?)

I'm tempted to try this cyclocross. Two questions;

What time does registration end? (What is the very latest I can loll around at home before I load the car and drive up?)

Would I be completely out of place if I entered on my XC steed?

...see you there?

Anybody can cross race on pretty much any bike. JDI :)

go on pete, it doesn't start till 12:30 and it's only bodmin. the course is well suited to an mtb, there's even some singletrack.

How's that Mike?

Had an email from a mate I was encouraging to enter. 'Can't make it, good luck, I came Top 10 on my full suspension last time I did it.' I won't be asking him again.

I need to work out how to start faster. Look how many fuckers were in front of me after the starting loops!
