Bikes Eh...

Firstly I should apologise for not blogging anything for weeks.
My enforced lay off has creeped over a fortnight.
Bikes are wonderful things aren't they.
They take you places, make you new friends and empty your bank acount.

A couple of bikes have come to my attention this week.
The first one is an old acquaintance, the second a new friend.
So first up is the new Trek TT machine, it's soo new it's yet to be painted up in Radioshack livery, heck it only mentions Trek a couple of times on the frame. It's that new!   Actually it's not.  If you're not familier with Simon's Extreme Commuter from a few years ago allow me to introduce you.  And yes, it was/is rideable.

Now occassionally, i check all the visits, IP addresses and where everyone is coming from.  Every now and again, VeloCake is visited by several folks from the Greater Brighton and Hove area. What if it is a certain sheep drawing bicicletta polizia di modo should clap eyes on it. Wouldn't that be great.

Saving the best till last, there was the patter of tiny wheels around our house as we welcomed a brand new turquoise Yeti. Ted, as he has now been named (although he was "Not Bob" for ages, thanks Grant) was pretty much finished off last weekend after borrowing a few bits and bobs from various places (thanks Jumbly) and our local LBS, the Cycle Centre, he was taken out for his first ride yesterday. Theres a full report on not Bob's outing and a very excited Katie's reactions here:  new yeti

Finally for a little balance and Alan, a cake.  Note the posh china.

Hmmmmmmm...... Trek.... Here's hoping they remember to speak to me at some point. :-)

I'd love some cake but in the words of a comedy program apparently only occasionally shown in the south and, when shown is possibly subtitled due to the accents, "A'HM AFF IT". Some sort of pathetic fitness trip or something.

Suspension forks on a time trial bike is the work of pure genious!

You can race to work without having to worry about riding through all those pot holes. -

Any news on the first inspector Morse mystery 'Slow ride'

I'm sure some of our regulars would be interested in driving/riding several hundred miles to amble through the back lanes of beautiful Kernow.

And as Big J.M is in charge,I'm sure we may pass close by a caf' or three!!

ps Top bit of Battenburg non-action going on there! did you or mr Lyons make it?

Al, why don't you do a public service anouncement about the tour de toggle chain. it might make an interesting first piece for you.

grant said...

It sounds a damn sight more worthwhile than the nonsense currently floating round my head. Get it written. :-)

VeloCake said...

grant, it'll take alan longer to write an interesting and amusing 500words on the toggle chain tour, than it would for me to get more stickers made.

(sits and waits for an arsey reply)

dear mr R.C.

go on, i dares you.write it up. show us all how to do it.
i'll buy you a great big cake if you do. (and some more stickers!)

surley you mean 500 letters?

If not, do all the words have to be different, make sense and be in any particular order?

I may need Toby and Jake to help me! toby's nearly 15,so he is well up to the job of helping his dad.
Jake's still only 7 and is far happier licking his ass in front of the fire!!!

al,

have you bought them a micro scooter yet?

al said...

Yes,but their ears get in the way of the bars!

I bought the cat some inline skates, she's now got the job of Bonnie Langford in Starlight Express.

I'm so proud!

Well I need some info first, like is it on the M+M route?
Or is it going to be top secret?

Equipment rules? etc...

So many questions, so little time.

i remember speaking to simon @ trek (you come up with imaginative titles when you work in a bike shop) about his commuting monstrosity years back.

plus i think he has a blue headset on the 69er because he was originally getting a fisher ferrous, which in the end i got.

so now you know.
