Meanwhile, in the Arctic Circle...

It was seemingly colder than Antarctica north of here on Monday night/Tuesday morning. Alas, we, in the milder Central Belt were just colder than the Arctic.

It's been a week since the snow came, and to be honest, I'm starting to get a little tired of it. At the risk of losing my hard-earned reputation as an all-weather mentallist, I'm actually wishing for skinny tires or even rain, just something else for a change. A chance to get the miles in, instead of taking an eternity to cover a small amount of ground, stopping every so often to clear cleats or pedals, always conscious of the slippyness under the snow, wondering how deep the next drift is.

That said, today's ride was still fun. The sun made a brief appearance between snowstorms and avoiding the deep areas made a difference to the frequency of breaks to clear pedals and cleats.

Time to check the weather forecast. Oh, more snow. Ah well.....I suppose it's festive. ;-)

Snow rocks. Make the most of it. There's bugger all here down on the South Coast :(

Everyone dreams of a white Christmas.... don't be such a sour-puss and (as you would say) MTFU! ;-)

Rain, rain, wind, rain, rain, rain, wind, rain, mud, mud, mud, rain, mud, mud, mud, rain rain, mud and a bit more rain. A bit of snow would make a nice change.

I could just do with a change, that's all. :-)

I'm also chasing an end of year mileage target that was easily achievable before the snow, but since has slipped further and further out of reach.

How many miles have you got left to do?

174.50 miles to target as of the close of play today (Boxing Day). Today's 40 road miles were horrible, thanks to it being -5c (-12c incl windchill) and the low temp making my thighs cramp after an hour in it.

Forecast for the next 5 days is ice or snow and more sub zero temps. :-D

I'm working out a justifiable moving-of-goalposts in case of emergency and have two possibilities in mind.....

Clawing miles back on the turbo and preparing the goalpost moving plans - plans A, B and C. :-)

No danger.

:-)

I need things to aim for, but that's not going to be one of them!

Maybe save it for 2011 Grant ;-)

Well, I'm certainly in favour of doing it later rather than sooner.

Maybe 2111?
