I've Had The Decorators In

Don't worry, I've not gone all emo or goth lite, there won't be spiders webs and pictures of the Cure all over your favourite bicycle and cafe website.

No, it's the VeloCake autumn/winter collection 09/10.   Not only is black the new brown, but it will help you all to aclimatise to riding in the dark, so put away those expensive lights and read this garbage more.

I like it Mikey.

The black brings me comfort.

It's like the darkest reaches of my mind.

Al.

Where's the black gone?

You'll all be pleased to hear that I rocked at the latest round of the NW cross league :)

Al said...

Who put 50p in the slot!!

How did you do Simon? You were first I presume? ;-)

I was directeur sportif (a.k.a spectator) at the Cross race in Bodmin. The VeloCake boys did good!

Expected a higher volume of VeloCake "Groupies" but sadly they only had me and my makeshift cardboard motivational tool (and the VC cowbell of course!).

Could have done with an extra pair of hands though, as it proved quite tricky to be the official photographer, cowbell ringer and "groupie". (Where was Al when we needed him?)

Simon said...

I was first Velocaker :)

Where are the pics?

VeloCake said...

Woop woop go Simone!

shes flicking them as we speak.

heard from Grant today?

Simon said...

Grant didn't race - it was too far away.

VeloCake said...

pffft slacker!

Simon said...

> shes flicking them as we speak.

So I see :)

VeloCake said...

we're a two pooter household of geeks.

how sad.

(sometimes we use messenger to get a brew)

VeloCake said...

oh by the way, don't i look FREEKING AWESOME!

Simon said...

You look bloody skinny!

KatieCake said...

ooOOoo did you say something about a brew? Yes please m'dear! ;-)

VeloCake said...

size zero racing weight my friend, fast and light.

Simon said...

> fast and light

Did you win then?

KatieCake said...

Well at 4'8" he would look like a TellyTubby if he carried any extra weight! ;-)

Al said...

I've been on my back for the last 48 hours.

I even missed the threemilestone Autojumble!!

Damn my spongeback.

I've not been to any of the CX 'funrides'.Hope to be at the next to give the team a whoop! and a hollah!!

Al the brave soldier.

I'm not really gay said...

all those bikes appear to have gears ???

have you sold out Mikey :-)

VeloCake said...

the official results aren't out yet Simon, so I wouldn't like to boast yet.

Alan of glassback, where were you when we needed a bell ringer.

John packed coz of you. it's all your fault.

Simon said...

Gears are the new singlespeed. Even Nigel used them today.

VeloCake said...

I've not sold out, i was racing the work bike. the singlespeed crosser is still in the pipeline, coz i'm sooo poor.

VeloCake said...

who's Nigel?

VeloCake said...

besides, does anyone make a 25t freewheel because thats all i used.

KatieCake said...

...and that's where it can stay "in the pipeline", as it aint goin' in our bleedin' garage! ;-)

Simon said...

> who's Nigel?

Nigel

Maybe we could poach him? He's quite fast.

VeloCake said...

jeeez he's wearing white lycra, what sort of place do you think this is?

(how fast is he exactly?)

I'm not really gay said...

he's bloody fast, I can assure you, he's also a Brighton Mitre-er

Al said...

Oh i see,the blame game starts!

why did John podium dodge? He's a contender in the Vet's,surely.

I can see i will need to take a bag of tin tacs to the next meet.
I could hide them in my big bell.

Al.

VeloCake said...

does that mean Nigel is from the same mold as the red setter, wasn't he in brighton mitre? i guess we can ignore the white assos shorts if he's that fast. who's got his number?

VeloCake said...

there was a prize up to 7th in the vets.
he didn't win it.

I'm not really gay said...

yes he is

Simon said...

He didn't lap me until just before the start of the last lap today. Either I was having a flyer or he was suffering a bit from a big ride in the dales yesterday and a mad dash to the startline after a late decision to race Boggarts Clough rather than Huddersfield.

KatieCake said...

I shoulda raced today... with my new skills and increased athletic ability I just know could have finished on the podium.

VeloCake said...

Had Nigel gone oop north then?
Boggart Hole Clough is a long way from brighton Toto

VeloCake said...

see my clever Dorothy reference film/gay icon buffs?

Simon said...

It was just a flying Northern visit Mike.

Cross racing has made me very hungry. I have eaten SEVEN jam doughnuts :-O

Al said...

Sharp!

I'm worried you may cut yourself Mikey!

Al.

ps nobody should be allowed to wear white Lycra shorts. If only for the fact that when they are wet they show ones swingin' fruit!!!

KatieCake said...

Ergh! Alan, that is an image that I just didn't want in my head.... you are a dirty DIRTY boy!

Al said...

What do you mean?

I often carry a banana and a couple of plums in my shorts.I don't like to show my fellow riders my 'energy store'.

Now if you think there's something dirty about this, well!

Al,a little shocked and just a little disapointed,PZ.

VeloCake said...

cross "racing" leaves me thirsty, in a couple of bottles of Duvel (belgium, somethings bound to rub off) and a couple of cheeky Erdinger brun. Helps the racing weight don't you know.

VeloCake said...

Al, have you trimmed your plums, or are they still on the vine, so to speak?

Al said...

I always trim my plums.

My 'nana need not see the trimmer!!

now Katie, try and sleep with that image in your mind.

Al.

VeloCake said...

Are you talking about your grandmother?

KatieCake said...

Al, I'd rather not!

KT, a little appauled and just a little disgusted, PZ. ;-)

Al said...

Good morning all.

I would like to take this opportunity to apologies to kattikins!!

I have no wish to offend anybody by gratuitously talking about 'mucky nuts' or any other non edable nonsense.

SORRY!

Al, back in my bed like the dirty dog i am.

Simon said...

Bah, they've missed one of my laps AND spelt Velocake incorrectly :(

Simon said...

Woot, just had an email saying they'd mis-keyed my number and I've been promoted to the dizzy heights of 72nd! That means I beat over 25 people. Woot :)
